Epsilon Mu Graduate Chapter

Privacy policy

This policy covers the Epsilon Mu Graduate Chapter website at emgraduatechapter.org and the chapter's text messages.

Mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

What we collect

Only what a brother gives us, and only from brothers who have been invited into the chapter site:

Every field on his profile is his to fill in or leave empty, and every one can be hidden from other brothers from the same screen.

What we do with it

We use it to run the chapter: to let brothers find and recognise one another, to tell them about events and chapter business, and to keep the roster of who belongs to which associate class. Nothing more.

Who can see it

Other brothers of the chapter, and only those parts a brother has chosen to share. Hidden fields are never sent to another brother's device. The site is invitation-only and is not open to the public.

Who we do not give it to

We do not sell, rent or trade anyone's information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not share it with other organisations, including Phi Kappa Tau nationally, except where a brother has asked us to. The only third parties that hold any of it are the services that run the site itself — Google Firebase for hosting, sign-in and storage, and, when chapter text messages begin, Twilio for sending them. They process it on our behalf and for no other purpose.

Text messages

A mobile number is used only to send the chapter notifications a brother has asked for. See Text messages for how consent is given and withdrawn. The mobile-information clause at the top of this page applies in full.

How long we keep it

For as long as a brother is a member of the site. If he asks to be removed, his profile and contact details are deleted. Posts he made in the forums may remain unless he asks for those to be removed too.

Asking us to change or delete something

A brother can correct anything on his own profile at any time. For anything else, including deletion, ask any chapter admin through the site.

Children

The chapter site is for alumni brothers of the Epsilon Mu chapter. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen.

Changes

If this policy changes we will post the new version here and update the date below.
